I decided recently to translate to English and make some little changings in my old posts that are written in my first language (Brazilian Portuguese). It's going to take time to translate everything but better late than never. So, I choose to translate this one so soon because Joshua Hyslop himself has seen my original post! I almost couldn't believe it! So, I'm translating this for you, Joshua! Thanks so much for being so kind to your fans!
I write about music from time to time, then last year I started to use music streaming on Spotify just to expand my personal list of musicians. My relation with the app is something completely new and it has been fitting to my music taste little by little. So, among the new suggestions of styles, bands, and musicians in the Daily Mix, I've found my dear Joshua Hyslop. His voice and his guitar style have got my attention so much, then I had chosen his albums and EPs to listen a bit more.

About Joshua Hyslop

Joshua is a singer/songwriter from Canada. He has started his records in 2011 and he already has 3 albums, 3 EPs and singles released by him and others as a collaboration with other musicians. His principal instrument is the guitar and other string instruments like banjo and mandolin. All of those string instruments have a special place in his compositions along with piano, violin, and cello - the ones that I love the most. The songs have so emotional content, something that makes them even more beautiful than already is.  Joshua usually makes voice and guitar performances and his music style is associated with pop and folk.

"Echos", an album released in 2017
I've had so little contact with the folk, so Joshua came to me after I tried the Spotify playlists: Your Favorite Coffeehouse and Relax & Unwind. His first song I've ever head was the single Wells (YouTube | Spotify | Deezer) in 2018 and I really liked the melody and the music style itself. Then, I thought about trying to listen to his other songs and after listening to his last album Echos, I can say for sure it's one of my favorites and since then, Joshua is with me.
Even though Joshua has started in 2011, some of his songs have become so popular on music streaming, like Long Way Down (YouTube | Spotify | Deezer), The Flood (YouTube | Spotify | Deezer) and Stand Your Ground (YouTube | Spotify | Deezer).
Joshua Hyslop got my attention because of the beautiful melodies he can compose, they give me the sensation of tranquility and well being, and the lyrics talk about emotions in a very simple an overwhelming way. And, of course, the most important thing: his voice. Joshua has one of the most beautiful male voices I've ever heard, he sings in such an emotional and smooth way too. I think the voice is the main characteristic of Joshua and his unique one.
Well, to try his music and to know his talent a bit more, I suggest to listen to his playlist This Is Joshua Hyslop on Spotify (here) and his playlist on YouTube by his record company Nettwerk Records (here). To finish, I share two songs by Joshua that I love the most:

See you at the next post!
