I've found a band called Keane

These days I was thinking about sharing what I've been listening to lately. I decided to listen to some bands and musicians who I haven't given the attention that they deserve, also, I've been decided to change my way to listen to music: I pick an artist or band and listen to all the albums it has. Well, a few weeks ago I picked Keane, I listened to some hits of them - I've known some! They were a band I haven't had proper attention and then, after listening to all their tracks, I must say: I love them! I never thought about liking a band as much as I do now and in a short time!

    About Keane
From left to right: Jesse Quin, Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley,
and Richard Hughes
Keane is a British rock band with 10 years on the road, it is formed by childhood friends: Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley, and Richard Hughes. In 2010, Jesse Quin has joined as the fourth official member. Keane has 3 albums, 6 EPs, and 2 live albums. The band started in 2004 with their debut album called Hopes & Fears which has their hits: Everybody's Changing and Somewhere Only We Know. After that, Keane became famous around the world and they started to do bigger tours.
The main characteristic of Keane is having a piano/keyboard as their lead instrument, which makes them different from other rock bands. I love their style just because of that piano/keyboard-driven band thing. Aside from the keyboard, they insert synthesizers into the songs, it happens mainly at the albums: Under The Iron Sea and Perfect Symmetry.

"Strangeland", an album released in 2012

I knew Keane for a short time but hadn't some curiosity about the songs or lyrics. Last year I had more contact with the band after listening to their latest album called Strangeland, which become my favorite in a short time. I love all the tracks from this álbum, and then, I've started to listen to the past albums, singles, and B-sides. After listening to everything, I could have an impression of the process of the band's style change through the years.
In some way, Strangeland made me create a strong connection (bond) with Keane, mainly because of the emotional lyrics. I don't know how to explain exactly but the songs give me a good sensation, the same when a listen to the instrumental piano. The melodies are so beautiful, the acoustic version of them is prettier. I'm sharing one of the songs in the acoustic version that I like the most:

Well, what I have to say here is: Keane becomes my favorite band in a short time! Even if I haven't passed the tough times waiting for the last album release like the other fans, I am feeling so sad to know that Strangeland took a lot of time to be launched and the same can happen with the next album. That's so sad.
According to Keane Brazil and the Keane Official Site, the next release is going to be The Best Of Keane which has their past hits and new singles: Higher Than The Sun and Won't Be Broken. This compilation is going to be released in November 2013, and an acoustic DVD is coming together!
To finish, I'm sharing the video of the new Keane single Higher Than The Sun that shows the long road Keane has passed through the years, also it has some references to their albums. It's so emotional to watch:

See you at the next post!
