The album "The Wave" by Tom Chaplin

In October I had news related to Keane and then, the most waited album of Tom Chaplin was released: The Wave. If there's someone who doesn't know, Tom is the vocalist of the British band Keane and this solo album was a project planned by him for a long time. Keane takes a long break of composing and touring after the release of The Best Of Keane in 2013, it happen because the members wanted to focus on their parallel projects and, of course, take time with their families. Therefore, in this period of time, Tom composed and produced his own songs for his solo album.

I've found a DJ called Avicii

Originally posted on: 20/03/2019

At this post, I decided to talk about what I've been listening to in the past months. And last year, in November, I've found Avicii. I was a bit late, but I've found him. I should say that listening to electronic music hasn't been in my daily life for so long time, even though, in the few last months of last year, I decided to try other music styles, so this is how I come to listen to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) through Spotify automatic playlists. Even though I've listened to so many songs, I liked a few of them and, among those, there was some music I liked just by listening for one single time, so I selected some DJs to listen a bit more, what means, listen to their discographies. That way I've found a special someone who I identify a lot with his songs, and then, with him too. It was how I've found Avicii.

I've found a musician called Joshua Hyslop

I decided recently to translate to English and make some little changings in my old posts that are written in my first language (Brazilian Portuguese). It's going to take time to translate everything but better late than never. So, I choose to translate this one so soon because Joshua Hyslop himself has seen my original post! I almost couldn't believe it! So, I'm translating this for you, Joshua! Thanks so much for being so kind to your fans!
I write about music from time to time, then last year I started to use music streaming on Spotify just to expand my personal list of musicians. My relation with the app is something completely new and it has been fitting to my music taste little by little. So, among the new suggestions of styles, bands, and musicians in the Daily Mix, I've found my dear Joshua Hyslop. His voice and his guitar style have got my attention so much, then I had chosen his albums and EPs to listen a bit more.

I've found a band called Keane

Originally posted on 07/10/2013

These days I was thinking about sharing what I've been listening to lately. I decided to listen to some bands and musicians who I haven't given the attention that they deserve, also, I've been decided to change my way to listen to music: I pick an artist or band and listen to all the albums it has. Well, a few weeks ago I picked Keane, I listened to some hits of them - I've known some! They were a band I haven't had proper attention and then, after listening to all their tracks, I must say: I love them! I never thought about liking a band as much as I do now and in a short time!

Reflections about the movie "Dead Poets Society"

I like a lot to watch this movie. Even though it was released in 1989, I've found it recently. I "discovered" Dead Poets Society in 2011 when I was looking for something to watch on TV. At that time, I already heard something about the movie or anything, then I decided to watch and talk about some interesting things in this post. The movie has a lot of content about life, passion, personal experience, and the value of art. Let's getting started.

Reflections about "Death Note"

Death Note is one of the most famous animes in the world. I believe it's that way because of the main subject and the rational duel it has. When I've watched this one, I started to have some thoughts about the conflict and the facts developed in it. Maybe I'm being carried away with the "reflection" thing, though I believe there are some things to explore. After a long discussion with friends, I thought about writing something about Death Note. Here we go.

About the novel "Dom Casmurro" by Machado de Assis

I've easily found Dom Casmurro: there was an old version of the book at home, therefore I couldn't read because it was in a bad state. At that time, it didn't really matter much, although recently (seven years later) I questioned myself "why some books are 'classic of the literature'?". So, I've started to read some of those books just to reflect on it, and that way I've come to Dom Casmurro again.
I had known some Machado de Assis' books aside Dom Casmurro, I've started to like his way of writing and it became one of the those I like the most, I can't really explain why though. Before starting the comments about the book itself, let's know more about the most talented and famous Brazilian writer below:

In this post, I decided to write about my favorite singer Vanessa Carlton and her last album. I could've listened to all the tracks, including the bonus tracks. Vanessa Carlton is being with me since her first single A Thousand Miles in 2002, since then, her music has been with me so far. So, before talking about her new release Rabbits On The Run, I'm going to make a little path of her from her debut album until 2011.

About "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

There we have a book that I would like to comment on here: "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which is one of the most famous books in the world. So, what makes it so well-known? This question can be answered by the fascination caused by the events experienced by the main character. His experiences are counted as a common story for children, full of fantasies, therefore, the Little Prince's travel way is metaphorical. His journey is not just full of 'adventures', they have an interpretation associated with human experience.

First Post!

Hello!

I've created this version of my blog to share and create posts in English. I think it can be a good way to improve my writing skills in English, so if there are little mistakes, don't be surprised! English is not my native language, though I really like a lot of things in English. :)
There are going to have my previous posts translated from Brazilian Portuguese to English.
I'm going to start soon...

Enjoy!
